I scanned Scrolly, but my apps still aren't blocked — what should I do?

Scrolly needs to run in the background to reliably block other apps. On Samsung phones, system battery optimization can sometimes restrict or close Scrolly automatically, which prevents it from working correctly.

Following the steps below removes these system limitations and allows Scrolly to run continuously, so app blocking works as intended.

STEP 1 — Remove battery restrictions for Scrolly

Open Settings
Go to Apps → find and tap Scrolly
Tap Battery
Select: Unrestricted

STEP 2 — Remove Scrolly from "Sleeping apps"

Open Settings → Battery and device care
Tap Battery
Tap Background usage limits
Check: Deep sleeping apps and Sleeping apps
If Scrolly is on any of these lists → remove it

STEP 3 — Allow Scrolly to run in the background (data)

Open Settings → Apps → Scrolly
Tap Mobile data and Wi-Fi
Enable: Allow background data usage

STEP 4 — Restart the phone

After completing all steps:
Restart your phone
Open the Scrolly app
Try scanning Scrolly again

Scrolly is not scanning / Scrolly stopped scanning (an error message pops up)

To reduce the risk of NFC failure, every Scrolly device has two NFC chips inside:

NFC chip 1 – located on the front (face) of Scrolly
NFC chip 2 – located on the back of Scrolly

Scrolly scan error – Could not read the tag

If an error message pops up after scanning Scrolly please:

1. Try scanning Scrolly again.
2. Flip Scrolly over and scan the other side.
3. Remove your phone case and try scanning again.
4. Restart your phone.
5. Reset the Scrolly app.
6. If the problem continues, contact us at support@scrollyapp.io

Can I block not only apps but also websites?

Unfortunately, on Android devices it is not possible to block websites inside web browsers.
