Which devices does Scrolly work with? Which phones and tablets?

iPhone

Scrolly works on iPhones running iOS 17 or later.
To check your iOS version:
Settings → General → About → iOS Version

Android

Scrolly works on Android phones running Android 12 or later and equipped with an NFC reader.
To check your Android version:
Settings → About phone → Android version

To check if your phone has NFC:
Open Settings and search for NFC.
If NFC appears in the results, your device supports it.
If you're unsure whether your specific model is compatible, email us at support@scrollyapp.io and include your device model.

iPad / Tablets / Computer
We don't currently support iPads or computers, but we are planning to build these capabilities in the future.

Can't scan Scrolly? Try this step-by-step fix

To scan your Scrolly, follow these steps:

1. Tap Scrolly on the main screen of the app.
2. A pop-up will appear saying "Ready to scan."

If the pop-up is not appearing, please follow the steps:

2.1. Force quit the Scrolly app and reopen it
2.2. Restart your device
2.3. Make sure that your phone has version 17 and up on iOS or 7.0 and up on Android
(Android only) NFC is turned on on the phone

Samsung:
Settings → Connections → NFC and contactless payments
Xiaomi / Redmi:
Settings → Connection & sharing / More connectivity options → NFC
Huawei:
Settings → Connections → NFC
OnePlus:
Settings → Bluetooth & devices → NFC
Motorola:
Settings → Connected devices → Connection preferences → NFC

3. Place the front of the Scrolly against the NFC reader on your phone

4. Your apps will be blocked. Repeat the same steps to unblock them.

Successful scan confirmation

After a successful scan, you will see a confirmation message and a happy Scrolly animation. The selected apps will be blocked until you repeat the process.

4.1 If you see an error message:

a) Try scanning again.
b) Scan Scrolly once more, placing your phone on the other side of the device — each Scrolly has two NFC chips (one near the face and one on the back).
c) If the problem continues, contact us at support@scrollyapp.io

4.2 If you scanned your Scrolly successfully, but the apps are still not blocked, please check the phone-specific setup guide for your device and complete the required system permissions.

I scanned Scrolly, but my apps still aren't blocked — what should I do?

What if I lose Scrolly?

No worries! For situations like this, you have 5 emergency unblocks available. You can find the emergency unblocks in Settings.

Note: There is 0% risk that the apps will be permanently blocked!

Can I use Scrolly for multiple devices?

Yes! You can use the same Scrolly with multiple phones — just make sure the Scrolly app is installed on each device.
